Happy Litha to all you Wiccan kiddies out there.  It's the longest day of the year, which means the days just get shorter from here on out.  That always makes me a little sad.  In any case, enjoy the sushine while you can, folks.

Oh No! It's Friday the 13th!

I know it makes me weird, but I've always treated Friday the 13th like a semi-holiday.  A mini-Halloween of sorts.  I'm corny that way, what can I say.  I'll probably celebrate by watching the new Shyamalan movie tonight if it's not crazy crowded at the mall.  Anyone out there remember the TV show Friday the 13th?  Man, I loooooved that show as a kid.  Of course, I also loved Freddy's Nightmares, Tales from the Darkside, and Monsters.  Probably explains a lot about me.

Anyway, any of you out there with fun Friday the 13th plans?

Happy May Day 2008!

Happy May Day everyone!  And to all my Wiccan peeps out there, happy Beltane!  I know, I know.  We don't really celebrate May Day in this country, but I think it's a damn shame.  It looks like fun.  Dance ye merry folk around a maypole.  Kinda like the merry folk in the ridonkuolously triptastic The Safety Dance video. 

By some funny coincidence, I was in a crazy 80's mood this morning and heard this song on the way to work, and then I was reminded of the may pole in the video, so now I'm subjecting you to the wtf?-ness of this little gem.  Yeah, I don't know why the lead singer thought he was in a goth band, but by the look on his face, he's apparently looking into the future and thinks he's Trent Reznor.  So sad for him.  I don't know what the blonde's deal is, but damn.  I remember my brothers and I laughing about her even then, and we were just kids.  Is she ditzy, or just insane?  Hard to tell.  And the rest?  Dunno.  All I can say is that there was probably lots of drugs involved in the making of this nugget of cinematic gold.  It was the 80's, after all.  In any case, I hope this puts a smile on your face this fine, flowery, and somewhat retro May Day.  Enjoy!

Happy April Fool's Day 2008

I know, I know.  A blog called "Tales of the Trickster" really should come up with a clever practical joke to play on all my friends, but truth be told, I'm just not feeling all that clever today.  Still, in the spirit of tricksterness, I feel a shout-out to the holiday is in order.  And, nerd that I am, I will go ahead and repost a link to the article on the Endicott Studios website about Tricksters.  What I lack in cleverness, I'll make up for in providing nerdy reading material. 

Anyway, If any of you guys have anything funny to share, please feel  free.

Happy St. Patrick's Day 2008

It seems just wrong all over that St. Patty's is on a Monday this year.  A Monday where I have to work, no less.  How lame.  Anyway, I'm wearing my green and I decided to share with you my favorite song to play on St. Patty's.  Here's Black 47's "Funky Ceili."

Enjoy.  Also, don't forget to drink something yummy and Irish, dance a jig, and pinch the bottom of some cutie pie who's not wearing green (but only if it won't get you smacked.  In fact, make sure it's someone you know won't smack you.)  And of course, as I said last year, don't forget the rope.  (For those of you who don't get the joke, you really should watch the Boondock Saints.  I try to watch it every year, if I can.)

Happy Valentine's Day 2008

Happy Valentine's Day, everyone!  And no whining from the single people about how it sucks and wah wah wah.  I so don't want to hear your negativity.  Go eat some chocolate and rent a spooky horror flick or something.  (What?  That's how I celebrated V-Day when I was single!  It made me very happy!)  Since we have to work today (and because today's going to be crazy at work and I won't be in the mood for smoochies), the sweetheart and I are moving Valentine's to Saturday.  Probably a yummy brunch and some romantic comedies in our future.  *dreamy sigh*

Okay you guys, this will probably be my last chance to wish you guys a merry  Christmas, and a happy Eid too.  (That's for my Muslim peeps out there.)  I'll be off for about a week or so, celebrating the holidays with the folks and my family in Titusville, FL.  I hope you guys have a safe, wonderful holiday season.  If you don't hear from me before hand, have a happy New Year's too! Thanksgiving 2007

Happy Turkey Day everyone!!!  Don't eat too much too soon, or you'll pass out from a food coma before any of the fun stuff happens.  As usual, I wish everyone a safe, happy, drama-free holiday.  Gobble, gobble!
